WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
Early stage climate technology companies that have a clear benefit to New York State.
For details of "climate technology," see below.
MENTORING
Our mentoring program is designed to help climate tech startups get unstuck and accelerate their path to successful commercialization. The program is free for eligible companies. We have over 80 certified, highly qualified EIRs available to help you on the path to success.
Mentors are expected to work with (not for!) a client company. EIRs guide teams in completing a set of defined deliverables. They provide feedback, introductions, working sessions, and other resources as appropriate to help the client complete the tasks.
Projects typically start with assignments of 40 hours of time with an EIR, though agreements can be adjusted according to the project goals. Additional EIRs can also be added to respond to changing client needs.

PITCH COACHING
Specialized EIRs with pitch coaching experience are available to companies preparing for important presentations such as sales calls and investor pitches.
We will pair client companies with a coach who will do up to three live or virtual practice sessions. The EIR will play the role of investor, judge, or customer and will provide detailed feedback and advice on the story, structure, presentation style, visuals, and more.
Specify pitch coaching as an area of interest in your application to get started.
GRANT WRITING
Grant funding is often essential to the success of early-stage startups. Unfortunately, grant writing can be a full-time job because of the complex application requirements. Our professional grant writers relieve much of the burden of researching options, assessing fit, organizing, and editing critical proposals with the result of increasing the likelihood of funding critical to the company's survival and growth.
Specify grant writing as the area of interest in your application to get started. Startups need a SAM registration and a DUNS number in order to receive services. Your local Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) can guide you through the registrations.
